William N. Rohrer Captain William N. Rohrer, retired U.S. Coast Guard
, was born Dec. 28, 1939, and passed away on Dec. 22, 2013 from metastatic prostate cancer, age 73. He honorably served his country for 30 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, a service distinguished with extraordinary achievements and true valor. Following the Coast Guard, he went on to pursue great careers, as a pilot for Eastern Airlines, a radio officer for the U.S. Merchant Marine, and more recently, he retired as a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agent. He was a proud member of Mensa, the Afifi Shrine and the Masonic Steilacoom Lodge #2, and the Tacoma Radio Club. Since the age of 14, he was an avid ham radio operator.
