SUSANNE MARKS

Susanne Marks November 26, 1923 - October 25, 2012 Susanne Marks died peacefully on October 25, 2012 in Salem, OR at 88. Born in Estonia, Susanne received a teaching degree from the Teacher's College at Tartu University in Estonia. She emigrated to Germany during WWII, where she met Richard Marks. They were married June 14, 1947. After their children were grown, Susanne worked at the VA Hospital, American Lake, WA. There, she received numerous awards for outstanding service. She loved nature and the simple things of life. She enjoyed gardening and watching birds in her yard. She touched the lives of many with her kind heart, compassion, and sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 1974. She is survived by her children Christine (Jon) Anderson of Neotsu, OR and Thomas (Lynne) Marks of Salem, OR, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
