JERONE STADEL Obituary

Jerone A. Stadel Age 77, of Pacific, WA, passed away February 27, 2011 at Life Care Center of Federal Way from dementia/ Alzheimer's disease. Born September 13, 1933 in Akaska, SD to Fred and Christina Wanner Stadel, he had siblings Herold, Elmer, Lillian, and one brother, Earl, who passed shortly after birth. Jerone remained the last living one of the family. His father was a blacksmith who taught Jerone many fine lessons in life on making and repairing just about anything he set his mind to. Later, he worked for his parents at their Stadel & Sons Grocery Store in Akaska. Jerone came to Washington State looking for work, but instead found his long-time love Irene. They courted over 1 year and were married in 1953 upon her graduation from high school. Jerone found work at South way Lumber in Auburn, and later worked for Nicholson Mfg. He served his country with honor in the Army NIKE Guided Missiles. After completing his service tour he found a job in Auburn, WA with Rohr Industries, assembling jet engines for Boeing. He worked there for 31 years, until his retirement in 1985. He and Irene had 3 girls whom they cherished and loved deeply, Myra Stadel Hunter, Rita Stadel VanVolkenburg (David), and Rhonda Stadel Miller, granddaughters Shelia, Ashley, and Stephanie, and 2 great-grandsons, Joey and Zane. His hobbies were playing fast pitch ball for Rohr, and later, to love the game of bowling. He had won tournaments with Amateur Bowlers Tour, and also 9Tap Tour, plus cashing in many tournaments. When he wasn't playing in sports he was fishing, hunting, and caught a winning 101lb. halibut off the coast of Westport, WA. The halibut fed Jerone's family for an entire winter, plus furnishing deer, elk, and a moose, were a part of his expertise with hunting skills. He had also caught numerous salmon, too many to count. Jerone also believed, as did his wife, to live according to God's law, with order and justice. He was brought up in the Lutheran faith and maintained his childhood teachings all his life. He was a good Christian man. God Bless You All. Online sentiments can be offered at www.price-heltonfuneralhome .com. Arrangements entrusted to Price - Helton Funeral Home of Auburn, WA.
