MARIE BAKER

Marie Jane (Songer) Baker Passed away peacefully at her home on March 24, 2011. She had battled Parkinson's disease for several years. She was married to Dwight (Bud) Vincent Baker. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 27 of this year. Marie spent her life being a wonderful wife and mother. She was active in her church, Bethany Baptist, until her Parkinson's would not allow her to attend any longer. Marie loved to play the piano for the Wednesday evening service and also played for a local nursing home. During the last few years, she was lovingly cared for at home by her husband. We wish to thank the various caregivers who also helped with her care. We also want to express a tremendous thank you to the hospice team from Multicare Good Samaritan Hospice for their help and support over the last few months. Marie's life was centered around her family. She is survived by her husband, daughters Diane (Mel) Braunagel and Nancy (Richard) Clarey, son David (Cindy) Baker, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Woodbine Cemetery, Puyallup.
