I think of Shawn often. He was the funniest guy with the biggest heart ever. He was always willing to help you if you needed anything....and he was always ready to play a practical joke. I worked with him for years as his Office Assistant, but he was also a wonderful friend. I miss you so very much Shawn!

Oh man, I seriously can't believe we're coming up on 10 years of Shawn's passing. I had the biggest crush on Shawn from Jr. high school days until my senior year. He would help me in science and I would help him in english/literature. Always a friendly, funny and caring man. His legacy will live on forever.

To all of Shawn's family - my heart and thoughts go out to you. Over the years our contact with each other has drifted apart, but even so I have always felt a trusted and lasting friendship with Shawn. Shawn served as one of my life's most valued mentors.
I didn't hear until this morning of your great loss. I share in your sadness as much as I will remember the many good times I shared with Shawn and your family. I feel very fotunate to be one of the many people who calls Shawn a friend.

I am located in Centre Alabama and was a classmate of Shawn's. I had the privilege of talking with him by phone a few times last year. I shared with him at that time that I had a crush on him in 9th grade! I was so SHOCKED to hear of his death......He will truly be missed. I send my condolences to his family and friends......May he rest in peace.

I went to school with Shawn in Sumner. He was a good man, always fair and a very caring person. I know Shawn will be missed by many people as he touched so many lives. I went to school with Shawn from Jr. High School thru High School. I always had a huge crush on Shawn. His thoughtful ways, his sense of humor and his never ending caring ways will be deeply missed. He absolutely LOVED his home, family and brothers & sisters in law enforcement. Embrace the memories, walk with God during this time and remember Shawn will always be with you.

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back at memories help comfort you tomorrow and I would like to think that Shawn is looking down at us with a smile. One of my great memories was Shawn and I and his Olds 442 and good times we had. We love and miss you! my cousin and my good friend.

I will truly miss Shawn and his smile. Shawn and I became good friends when I was new to PCSD. Shawn was a great friend and an outstanding deputy. I enjoyed riding motorcycles off duty with Shawn and I have lots of good memories from those times. Shawn and I worked a lot of bike patrol together and he always had my back. We even rode the Seattle to Portland together. I am saddened by his loss and my prayers/thoughts are with his family. Please know that Shawn touched many of us and he will be missed.

To Uncle Jack, Aunt Jackie, Kimberly, Shannon and his two children , Corrie and Daniel. I am so sorry to hear about Shawn. It is never easy losing a loved one. My heart goes out to you all. I really enjoyed talking with Shawn when he used to patrol around Lake Tapps Golf Course. He always smiled and had a good joke to tell. I also admired him for his dedication to his profession. What a super guy. I'll miss him tremendously.

To the McDonald family: words are only words, the love that is pouring in right now, embrace it, shawn was not only a hero in many eyes, he was loved and adored by many. I grew up with Shawn and he use to pick on me, then as adults he protected me and many others. To the family of Shawn. I knew Shawn for only a short period of time. I met
Shawn through work and was surprised to find out that he once was a cop. If I were a bad guy, I would want Shawn to be the cop who busted me. He commanded respect and it was evident that he gave it back aswell, even if you were the bad guy. That is the sign of a man who knew who he was and where he stood in this world. I hope that God brings peace quickly to your hearts. Please know that Shawn is still a great man because his spirit lives on and will never die.

Shawn, Tammy and I were just talking about when we came to your house and you let our boys chase your pigs around the yard, you will be so missed.
