Arlene Joy Keck Was born to Rose and Charles Hathaway in Seattle on October 29, 1919, and passed away on October 2, 2016. Arlene graduated from Monroe High School and in 1938 married her sweetheart, Ernie, who lived next door. Ernie joined the Navy and they were stationed in Hawaii where they survived the horrors of Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941. Ernie retired from the Navy after serving 20 years and they made their home in Puyallup, where Arlene worked for Puget Sound National Bank and Ernie joined the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, rising to the rank of Captain of Detectives. After retiring, they traveled extensively throughout the world. Ernie passed in 2003 and Arlene eventually moved to Santa Cruz, CA. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Schultz (partner Jim Stutz) of Camano Island, and Kathy Ashworth (husband John) of Santa Cruz. Arlene has now joined Ernie, friends and precious family members who went before her. A private family service will be held at a later date at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.
