KING COOPER Obituary

King Cooper II Beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, friend. Born March 12, 1967 at the original St. Joseph Hospital; passed away unexpectedly May 1, 2013 at age 46. King was raised in Browns Point, where he developed life-long friendships that stood the test of time. Attended Browns Point Elementary, Meeker Jr. High, and Tacoma's Stadium High School. A former Marine, he served 4 years (1989-1993), where he received awards and was sent overseas to many different countries. After serving as a Marine, he attended Highline CC and Green River CC and received a degree in Waste Water Management. He worked for the City of Orting and Parametrix, finally establishing himself at the City of Bonney Lake. He was kind-hearted, generous, and had a quick willingness to help anyone in need. He was a member of the Orting Lions Club (King Lion), helping in any way needed, including cooking at the Daffodil BBQ, the Lions Easter egg hunt, and Santa Claus at Christmas. He was your "Go-to-Guy." He was an avid fisherman and hunter, loved the outdoors, and was a big Huskies / Seahawks fan. He loved his nephew Cody and nieces Brielle, Gwen, and Isabelle. His brother, Kelly, meant the world to him, and they shared very special bond. He had a special place in his heart for his long time buddy/pet, Jack. You rarely saw one without the other. He leaves behind his loving father King, mother Jackie, brother Kelly, brother Eric, sister-in-law Charlotte, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous close friends that meant so much to him. Please forgive the family for not mentioning all names. A remembrance for family and friends will be held at the Orting Lions Club, 19725 Orville Rd. E. Orting, 98360, Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 1 to 3 pm. "I am absolutely sure that not even death or life can separate us from God's love. Nothing at all can ever separate us from God's love because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done."

Hey King.. it was such a shock to hear of your passing. Only not too long ago we were sharing a dance and some giggles. I will miss your laughter and the compliments. You were very easy on my tender ego. My self esteem was always boosted when you were around. Thank you so much for that. Im so grateful you included me into your circle of friends. Love you..and shake em up when you get there.

You will be missed. I rememeber King from Jr high and High School. My home on upper Brown Point had all the kids come. While I lived their my son Gene always had the boys over to play pool and make friends. I always had a new exchange student that they liked. I do beleive Christian from Norway went to Staidum with him. (We are having a party in Germany this summer so will pass the news on) He will be missed by all his family, friends and coworkers. God bless the family. Clara Strode Gene's Mother.

We shared great times in high school together buddy. Enough, that when I would see you from time to time, around town,as time passed, we would share a handshake, a hug, and in your words, "Great to see You my Friend". Always loved to see You My Old Friend. I will miss you.

King, Words cannot express how much you are missed in our house the shock, the sadness and the grief of how we are going to go on without you is unimaginable. You started off being the inspector on one of our jobs years ago and ended being the best of friends, you will never know how much we love and miss you, we miss hearing the outlandish jokes you would tell no matter how nasty they were and how you would laugh and laugh and laugh. There wasn't a day that went by that Sam wouldn't come home from work and say “Listen to the joke King told me today” or “Damn that King got me good today”, he misses you so much it hurts I hope you realized how much you meant to him to all of us, the friendship you guys build on this last job was one for the records books you helped him laugh again and I love you for that. He misses you driving your little blue truck in our driveway everyday for a smoke brake with the latest news, watching you get out of your truck and changing your shoes when you got onto the job (we know how they couldn't be dirty), you wearing your City of Bonney Lake jacket, the way you would shake your head and only Sam knew exactly what you where thinking on the Ponderosa job, the smart ass remarks on our Facebook pages that made us laugh till we peed and shaking your hand. Sam will never forget the last time he shook your hand and the heart to heart you had the day before it all makes since now. You mean the world to us Mr. Cooper we will never forget you, A&A Excavating would have never been the same without you, because of you we laid more pipe in the City of Bonney Lake than any other city (I know you would have turned this into a joke:), thank you for making that possible. We will be watching for a sign from you every single day, King I know you are Ok where you are but what I don't know is how we will be OK without you.

Oh how I miss your face every day at work! You were not just a coworker to me but a great friend. King took care of us ladies at work even if it was take my recycling out, carry the heavy boxes, run to City Hall for me, always, always answered your phone for the job not matter what time of the day. You worked hard, held your contractor accountable and no matter if I gave you a hard time or not you always did whatever was asked of you with determination. Your contractors respected you!
As my friend you were a great listening ear (when you could get him to sit or stand long enough :O)) and always had an interesting perspective on things. You made us laugh and smile and your "Good Morning Ladies" every day and always asked how you were doing. I will miss most your AWESOME laugh and how it resonated a room that would put a smile on all that heard!
Go in Peace my friend you will be greatly missed! Words cannot express the loss you are to our lives!

This is such a huge loss for so many! King Cooper opened up his circle of Friends & Family to both John Paul and I. Everything he greeted me it was with a side hug and he would kiss me on my forehead. It was the sweetest gesture. King is one of the most giving, funny, crazy and goofy men I have ever met. One thing he showed to us time and time again was how to Love, Live and Laugh until it hurts! Gonna miss the socks out of you dear friend, King Cooper! May you watch over us and help guide us when we need it. Love You, Forever and Ever! Peace to All

Jim Sanders Sr.

May 8, 2013

King was a friend of my son Jim. They were both from the Browns Point / Dash Point area where almost all the kids knew all the other kids. He was a special type of guy. One who not only cared for his Country, but put his life on the line by serving it. Something everyone in America should thank him for. Thank you King.
I wanted to share a little story about King that showed what kind of heart he had. A few years ago King and Jim and some other friends were getting together for some friends time. They were meeting over by U.P.S. (the school) and Jim accidently ran into the back of Kings big shiny bumber on his truck and put a fairly nice dent in it. King kept his truck in nice shape. Now most people, even friends, start talking about insurance, getting it fixed etc. etc., which is normal. After all someone with a nice vehicle likes to keep it that way. But what did King do? He said, Jim, forget about it. It's no big deal. I'm not sure if anything ever came of it but I don't think so. He was forgiving and gracious, something you don't see much of anymore. When I think of King, this story always comes to mind. What a guy. King, indeed, your friends are going to miss you alot. But all the special memories you've made with them, and a lot of people that you don't know, will bless them the rest of their lives. May God bless you for eternity.

Thank you for being such a good friend! Thank you for always being someone I looked forward to seeing because I knew I was going to get a big hug, some flirty "compliment", and your laugh! Thank you for being you, and leaving such great memories behind. You are missed and will always be missed King Cooper. Now leaving my camera laying around unattended will no longer be fun or adventuresome. And our Apple Cups will never ever be the same now. You changed our lives while you were here and now you've changed our lives by having to leave us. I love you dearly my friend!!!
So sorry to the family. Keeping you all close in heart & prayers. Much love to you.
