ARTHUR OLSON Obituary

Arthur W. Olson Arthur W. Olson, 75, of Lakebay, WA passed away Mon. Jan. 31, 2011. He was born in Madison, WI on Nov. 28, 1935. Arthur came to the Northwest in 1952 and then met and married his wife, Phyllis in 1956. Story telling was his claim to fame besides his love for sports. He coached kids and adults in baseball and brought home many trophies. He was an accomplished machinist as well as a human dictionary. Family and friends were very dear to him. He was caring, funny, smart, and loved educating his grandchildren on proper English. His life was not in vain because he will not be forgotten. Arthur is survived by his wife of 55 years, four children, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. There will be a viewing in Gig Harbor at Haven of Rest Funeral Home on Saturday Feb. 5th between 3 and 5 p.m. and then a celebration of his life at the Homeport in Lakebay starting at 5 p.m.

Art was my favorite Uncle. I loved him so much. We spoke often on the phone, and I will miss hearing his voice. I have many fond memories of his wit, and intelligence, and good times sharing a beer or two with him. He will truly be missed.
