Although you do not know me, our football team in Fort Collins, CO has worked with the fallen heroes program throughout the summer to honor those who gave their lives for us. Each player has worked hard to earn the honor to wear that soldier's name including physically and mentally challenging tests of strength. This Thursday night our team has a military night. And although our school board would not allow us to have the soldier's name on their football jerseys, our booster club raised money for military style jerseys and each boy will wear under the jersey the name of the soldier on their compression shirt with the player's football number. They also were given dog tags with the fallen hero's name and information. My son Griffin has the honor of commemorating your son Alexander. He has worn it proudly everyday since receiving it. If you or someone you know has a Facebook page, go to Sabercat football and you can see our program and how we have honored our soldiers. We have a big military night pep rally for our community this Wednesday night at well. I just thought you might like to know that Alexander is being honored by our school and especially my son and that his service and ultimate sacrifice has not been forgotten. Thank you, Susan Roberts

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Bennett Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Alex, I love you more than words or flowers will ever say. Since you moved on to a higher life, I've felt so alone, and the only time I feel comfort is when I lay down in the stillness of the night, and see your face. It's all I see every night, and all I ever want to see. I love you and I am so proud of you, and even more honored to have known you. Save me a seat baby doll.

Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers ([email protected]) is an organization with groups throughout the country who strive to send handmade prayer shawls and/ or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA would like to honor your son’s sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a shawl which we will mail to you. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected] with the names and addresses and what they would like to receive. We will send them as soon as possible. Also, if you know of any other families who are grieving the loss of a loved one who died serving our country, please pass along my e-mail address, as our organization can no longer get family contacts through the military. May God bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Lynne

I had the honor and privilege to serve with Alex in the Reserves at Fort Lewis and in Iraq as well. He was an outstanding young man that took his job and service very seriously, but not so serious that he could not have fun and enjoy the Army and the life he chose. He will always hold a special spot in my heart for his love of life, the Army and his devotion to his family, friends and unit. We were truly blessed in the short time that we got to have him in our life. My condolences to his family and thank you for sharing him with us.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Sgt. Alexander J. Bennett our Brother-in-Arms . To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Alexander. And to Alexander it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Alexander, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,307 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Alexander’s family and loved ones.

I am so sorry for your loss. To give one's life is indeed noble.
(Isaiah 2:4) . . .And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore.

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Alexander will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
I Salute You.
