Beverly Shaffer Obituary

Beverly Shaffer 12-25-1924 6-1-2011 At the age of 86, a long and wonderful life came to an end on June 1. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and grandson Robert Lehne, brother Cameron Miner and sister Toni Lynn. She is survived by daughters Joan Hopen (Alf) and Roberta Smith (Dan Olson), grandchildren David Harrison (Ann), G. Scott Harrison (Vlada), Anthony Smith (Ami Root), Wendy Sleeger (Gary), and Heidi Wright (Drew), and eight great-grandchildren. Beverly retired after 25+ years working for Pierce County as the Executive Secretary for the County Commissioners. After retirement Bev and Bob spent many years snow birding in Salton City, CA, where she leaves behind many lifelong friends. After Bob's passing, Bev continued to spend her winters in southern California. She enjoyed hours of sitting on her deck watching the pelicans and the beautiful sunrises. A special thanks to Dr. Ward and his caring staff, and to all the many friends for their loving support. Memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House. A celebration of Bev's life will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Building. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
