So sorry to hear this. A great loss to all of us who fly fish the Puget Sound beaches. A great man.

I met Bruce about 30 years ago when I joined the Puget Sound Flyfishers. He was a phenomenal fly caster and became my mentor and inspiration for my own casting. He pioneered fly fishing for winter coho in lower Puget Sound and I was lucky to be a beneficiary of that in the early years. I worked with Bruce on many of the annual PSF spring fly fishing clinics as I shared his enthusiasm in teaching the sport he loved so dearly. He gave so much to making the Puget Sound Flyfishers the organization it is today. It was a privilege to know him and even fish with him a few times. I will always cherish my memories of him. Best wishes to all his family.

Bruce's enthusiasm for fishing and hunting and respect for our natural resources was inspiring. He could identify any bird or fish species easily and truly loved the out of doors. Our sons and son in laws loved to visit him next door and share fly fishing experiences, with Bruce giving intricate guidance on flies, destinations and regulations! He will be missed. Our sympathies to the entire family.

I only met Bruce a few times at Puget Sound Fly Fisher meetings. He was a truely gracious man and an Icon in the world of fly fishing! Bruce and his smile and gentle way will be missed.
