Fr. Charles Giles Crosse, III Fr. Charles Crosse, a priest of the Archdiocese of Seattle, was brought peacefully home to his Father's house on Wednesday, October 2nd at the Recollections Center in Laurel House, Tacoma, WA. Fr. Crosse was born on June 14, 1922 in Stoughton, WI. He served as a field medic during WWII, achieving the rank of Sergeant. During an Army training program he met a priest who deeply impressed him with his goodness, kindness, and thoughtfulness. He eventually chose to become Catholic and then studied to become a Catholic priest. He was ordained in 1953, and served in several different parishes in the Archdiocese of Seattle. He also served as chaplain to the military hospitals at American Lake and Joint Base Lewis McChord well into his retirement years. Fr. Crosse devoted over 60 years of his life to serving others and bringing the good news of Christ to all who would listen. His passion and love for Christ were evident in his tireless efforts, which never slowed down. Fr. Crosse is survived by his younger brother Byron, four nieces and nephews, eight great-nieces and nephews, and three great-great-nieces and nephews, including his proud namesakes Charles Giles Crosse IV and V. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 11:00am at St. John Bosco Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 6:00pm, also at St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
