We know Coach Gilmer will be remembered fondly by the Lincoln HS students. We also enjoyed seeing him at Audubon events over the years. Our deepest sympathy on your loss.

There were thousands of students who learned from Mr. Gilmur and I was fortunate to have been one of his students in the early 1960's. A few years ago I ran into Mr. Gilmur at the Tower Lanes for breakfast and I was able to express my appreciation which put a smile on his face and he thanked me, and I replied..."no Sir, it is I who thanks you." To Mr Gilmur's family, may God bless you each and every day with His wonderful presence and His promises that never fail. Blessings, Dennis

I have fun memories of my days at Lincoln High School and count Coach Gilmur as a major motivator for my interest in a career in education. I will always recount the locker room message before we took the floor to play Odea for the right to qualify for the State Basketball Tournament. (1957)Coach Gilmur's comment was: they are preparing a state tournament program and on one page will be a picture of Lincoln or Odea, lets make sure it's Lincoln. We won and a dream came true for a group of guys that still get together often after more than 50 years. Sincerely, Ed Tingstad

Coach Gilmur led our 1957 Lincoln Abes team to 6th in the State Tournament held at Hec Edmunson Pavilion on the campus of the UW where he played his college basketball. Coach Gilmur coached with a consistent discipline that left no doubt where he stood. He believed that respect was earned, not given, and his non wavering approach to teaching and coaching was mirrored in his 1957 team. Years after High School I had the opportunity to strike up a friendship with Chuck and found him to be a very enjoyable man to be around and converse with. I will always remember him as a coach and mentor who I hold in high regard. My sympathies to the family members and wish you all my very best.

Mr. Gilmur was my teacher at Mt Tahoma. I loved his class, he was patient, caring and loved working with kids. I thought about him often during my 30 years of teaching. He made a positive impact on me as a young man.

Thelma and family, so sorry to hear of your loss. I have wonderful memories of picnics (years ago now) at my parents' home on Fox Island, and the baseball games up at the little school. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Carol Campbell (Shorty & Pearl's daughter)
