To her employees Louise was much more than just a boss, she was family, a true inspiration, and humanitarian. I am honored for knowing her, and will miss her guidance, youthful energy, her kind heart and all of the wonderful times we shared. May her spirit live on, and may we all strive to live a life as beautiful as hers!

5-22-11 My fond memories of Louise go way back to the time she worked for my dad at the lumber company mentioned in her obituary. Our whole family loved Louise: we were sad when she left us, but happy she was moving on to that next, great adventure---the Athenian cafe. It was a blessing to be part of her life in those long-ago days!
Now go with God, dear lady! And may His comfort surround her dear family....

I worked for Louise at the Athenian off and on since 1980 and she became a very dear friend to me as well as boss. I will never forget her energy and such a special personality. Louise will be so missed by so many! We had alot of fun together!! You will remain in my heart forever Louise!!!

Though I never knew her personally, how can a market person of long standing, such as myself, not comment on her sweet face greeting you when you went to the Athenian for a cocktail. God speed tothat big restaurant in the sky,.....

Louise; the sweetest, kindest neighbor I've ever had in the restaurant business or anywhere. Always a joy to talk with, always a smile on her face and a joy to know. It will never be the same in the "heart of the market" and we'll remember you with smiles.

We here at Hands of the World in the Market have often enjoyed a frosty mug at the Athenian after work. We always enjoyed seeing Louise, and knew that her energy set the tone for her staff. She will be sorely missed.

We got to be neighbors of Louise for just 4 years, she was the first person we me when we moved to the neighborhood, only to find out that we both worked at the Market, as my husband had as well. We enjoyed getting to know her as a neighbor, watching her drive her beloved cream colored mini smartly around, and chatting in the garden. What a wonderful example of how to live life, the whole neighborhood will miss her.

Our group of long time friends has gathered the Friday before Christmas at the Athenian every year since 1974. Louise was always there to greet us and treat us with generosity - we are better for having known her. The SMHI group will very much miss her unique, lively spirit. RIP dear friend.

Louise and Bob were both people that I had the pleasure of meeting. Thanks again for letting Minda and others prepare all the meals for the homeless in your kitchen. Respectfully, Mike Grow
