DAVID ENGEBRETSEN Obituary

David T. Engebretsen Dec. 12, 1927 - Feb. 1, 2011 Our precious loved one has gone on to be with his Lord. He is survived by his wife Roberta, and their family, Dan Engebretsen and his wife Debbie who reside in Maryland with their two children Ashton and Kendra; Debbie Nubile and her husband Rick, living in Tacoma with their son, Samuel; Darrell and Jamie Croteau and their children, Joshua and his wife Jeni residing in Ft. Worth, TX; Brendon and his wife, Heather of Pullman, WA; Courtney and her husband Tyler; Jarrod with his wife Ali, in OK; Caleb and Tyler, also in Portland; Ben, Travis and Madalyn at home; Lance and Diane Croteau who make their home in Lacey, WA with their two children, Joseph and Cecelia; and Christine and Phil Voelker residing in Mossyrock, WA with their four children, Hannah, Sarah, Micah and Tommy. While we know that Dave is enjoying the wonder of Heaven, it is difficult to say "good-bye" to this warm, gentle, and kind man, who not only served his God, family and country, but was an encourager, giving quiet strength through the years. His service to country spanned twenty-three years, three in the Navy as a Midshipman at Pensacola, FL, and twenty as a Chaplain with the US Army, serving at Camp Desert Rock, NV, Snelling Air Force Base in Minneapolis, MN, two tours in Korea, France, Ft. Ord, CA, Savannah, GA, Viet Nam, and retiring as Lt. Colonel June, 1976. His memorial service is being held Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 1PM in the Aspen Chapel, Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA 98455, (253) 584-0252.
