DONALD KEUTER Obituary

Donald Joseph Keuter Age 40, son of Donald James and Dorothy Keuter, flew away with an angel early on the morning of March 2, 2011. She had been knocking on doors looking for him for almost a week as he struggled with H1N1 flu. Where they went we can only guess; perhaps to his rustic cabin in the woods at Gig Harbor with his cat "Bella"; maybe down to the beach at Dash Point or to the gulch in Browns Point where he grew up; maybe to a house boat on Lake Roosevelt where he and his buddies went every summer; perhaps even the rafters of the Tacoma Dome, where he worked the past 6 years. Most likely they took a tour to his "Little House on the Prairie"Eat Rimrock Estates outside of Ephrata, where he could smell the sage brush and tune his guitar to a coyote's call, or maybe vice-versa. He left behind his parents, Donald James and Dorothy Keuter, brother Dave Keuter, sister Donetta Brooks (Kevan), a very special friend, Paige Slade, his best friend Bob Martin, and all the Judy Martin family... his second family... and his nieces and nephews, Clayton and Stephanie Brooks and Daelie and Griffen Keuter, who were just starting to appreciate that he was a fun fellow. Special thanks to the Gig Harbor paramedics, St. Anthony's and St. Joseph's Hospital staff for their efforts, and all his many friends who came to offer hugs, tears, stories, and food. A memorial service will be held at St. Theresa's Parish, 3939 SW 331st Street, Federal Way, WA 98023 at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 19, 2011. A celebration of his life will be held at the Browns Point Improvement Club at 201 Ton A Wan Da Ave NE, Tacoma, WA 98422 following the service.

Donny, I can't believe you are gone. We always had great times brother. You are a generous and loyal friend. As you can see from the huge out pouring of love even to this day, months later, you are missed. Take care on your journey. See ya on the road somewhere...

Our deepest condolences.
>
Don's obituary, celebration cover and celebration really captured his spirit.
>
On the day of his passing, I received the email while I was at work. Once I got home and had some time to reflect on the sad news, I looked out my back window and saw a rainbow. The rainbow must have traveled from Commencement Bay to North Idaho. I believe Don's wonderful spirit will remain with each of us who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Dear Don-
It was a pleasure knowing and working with you. I remember you always had a beautiful smile. You never said anything bad about anyone. I enjoyed all of our conversations. I REALLY miss you and still cannot believe you are gone. My heart goes out to your family. I know you are in a better place, but that does not help that I selfishly had planned to work with you a very long time.

Very well written obituary. Donnie, I can't believe you are gone. I still see you driving up to our house on BP in your little red Honda! You are with God and at peace now. May god be holding you and your family with open arms at this time. Love always, Denise and Terri Brown.
