Esther Johnston Obituary

In Loving Memory of ESTHER LILLIAN MOLZAN JOHNSTON April 11, 1922 - April 8, 2011 Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. Whatever we were to each other, we are still. Call me by my old familiar name and speak to me in the easy way you always have. Laugh as we always laughed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was, there is absolutely unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am waiting for you for an interval, somewhere very near just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before...only better...and forever...we will all be one together with God. Mutti, we will miss your candid conversation and advice, sense of humor, delicious roast and gravy, camping trip companionship, and your passion for animals, bowling, stamp collecting, and carnival life. You were an amazing role model - so before your time - assertive and liberal and loving. Hug Father and Doug for us. XXXOOO

My dear, loving friend, Esther, I miss you more than I can say. Friends like you are rare to find in this life, and I am so grateful that we found each other again in the last few years. I know you are with me, as I am with you; we are connected in a way that transcends time and death. You will remain an active part of my daily life, because you are a vital part of my heart. Never far away, always close. My love for you will never change, will always remain strong. We will see each other soon. Now youu are free as a bird; out of physical pain, and are at peace with your beloved Doug, Gordon, and Gertie. Jen, you are in my prayers, your Mom was truly one of a kind. You know she loved you and is with you; keeping an eye on you!! With much love, X X X Laura

Jennifer I have been thinking of Esther and wished I could have found more information about where she was and I wondered if she was still with us...so sorry to see that she is gone without a chance to say goodbye... I loved her, and respected her so much. She was still my mother-in-law regardless of my marital status. I still have recipes she marked for me and memories of roast beef on Sundays, Hobo eggs, the wonder years of Gordon's leadership in Tacoma.

To Tommie and the Molzan clan my best to you, I think of you often.

Oh crap...as she would say.

Much Love, Janet Dowling

Jennifer and Family .....

We both heard your Mom's voice crystal clear as we read these beautiful words this morning....

Tom and I so enjoyed spending the day with Aunt Esther recently and know she had a grand time too which added to our joy ! She had a special way of doing just that, adding joy and laughter to a persons life.

Every time I say Molzan I think of her lessons to me on the "proper pronounciation" ... I'll never forget the phone message she left me about just this and how much we laugher over it !

She is in our everyday life and we will miss her until we meet again...

Much Love to You all ~
