So sad to hear of her passing. I just recently found out. I have been living in Idaho for the past 7 years. Many of my childhood memories include her and all of you in the Johnson Family. My prayers go out for all of you at this time of loss.

I had the privilege of "running into" Devone about 2-1/2 months ago at the Wendys on Mildred Street here in Tacoma. She was sitting eating her lunch when I approached her and asked if she was Sister Johnson. She said yes and I told her who I was. We had a great visit for about 45 minutes talking about family and old times in the First Ward Building. She told me how much she missed Wally. Little did I know then how soon she would be with him again. I was unaware of her death until today and was sorry I missed her funeral service. However, I'm extremely happy I had the chance to see her and speak with her before her death. She told me about all of her children and how much she loved each one of them. As a child growing up I always thought it was neat that the Johnsons had the same house number as we did...710. Sometimes we'd get their mail and they'd get ours. I look forward to seeing all of the old First Ward members who were so much a part of my childhood. My prayers go out to her family.

I have very found memories of Sunday evenings and sleep overs at the Johnson home. I remember there was always good food to eat there, and fun games in the front room. I also remember how talented Devone was. I loved the doll house with funiture that she made for Sue. I think I had a couple of peices of furniture that she gave me that my girls played with too. She was always so patient and taught me lots of things while I was at her house. I wish our lives had stayed more connected, but she was a big influence for good in my life.

What a wonderful lady. I truly enjoyed getting to know Eva. She was so proud of all her family. God bless her.
