FAYE FLETCHER Obituary

Faye Lavonne Fletcher Aug. 31, 1926 - Feb. 13, 2011 (84 years young) Faye was born on the Spethman family ranch in Slope County, North Dakota to Flossie and Arthur Spethman in 1926. She married Virgil Fletcher in 1946 and had two children. After traveling to Virginia, Hawaii, and Guam, she settled in Dickenson, ND, where she graduated from nursing school in 1964. She then traveled to Tacoma, WA. During her many years as a nurse, Faye worked at Lakewood General Hospital, Orchard Park Convalescent Center, and Tacoma Lutheran Home. After retiring in 1996, Faye traveled some and spent time with grandchildren. She also did volunteer work in nursing homes and hospitals, as healthcare was a big part of her life. Faye began a life-long battle with colon cancer at age 19. She survived a major heart attack in 2006. When a stroke hit her, she could fight no longer and passed away on February 13th. She is survived by her son Daniel Fletcher of Texas, her daughter Merlene Manuel of Roy, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, Feb 27, 2011 at 1:00 PM at her daughter's home in Roy. Inquiries may be sent to email [email protected] .
