Marian Glossner Obituary

Marian Glossner (Keeling) Of Tacoma passed away, May 14, 2011 at home surrounded by family. Marian was born in Yakima, February 10, 1929 to Myrtle (Yearian) and Clarence Keeling. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1947 and married Ike (Clair) Glossner, April 2, 1948. In 1984 at the age of 55 Marian realized her dream of graduating from college, earning a BA in Art History from The Evergreen State College. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, knitting, shopping, aerobic swimming, baking and playing the slot machines. Marian's family was the most important thing in her life and she has provided them with many cherished memories. She is survived by her husband Ike, her children Linda Parrish (Robert), James Glossner (Patricia), Carol Miller (Paul), grandchildren Tara Parrish, Bevin Downs (Tony), Dawn Shotsman, Brett Pasca, Heather Murchison (Tony), Corinne Miller; eight great grandchildren; brothers Clarence (Marilyn), and Jerome (Marilyn) Keeling; and cousin Jean Adams. We cannot possibly thank the nurses and doctors of St. Joseph's Hospital enough for the loving care they gave Marian. We especially thank Dr. Chong and nurse practitioner Karen. Further, there are no adequate words to describe the loving ministry that is Franciscan Hospice, so we ask that please consider a financial gift in Marian's name to this incredible organization. Visitation will be held at Fir Lane Memorial Park on May 17th from 12:00 to 2:00. A private memorial service will follow.

My sympathy to all of Marian's family. I know that she will be deeply missed by each and everyone. I remember her of having a friendly greeting when seeing her at the Keelings or wherever I happened to meet her. May God be close to you now for strength and comfort.
