Barb, Corey and Bruce--
I am so sorry to hear of Gordy's passing. The Hess family is so special in my memory of growning up in the neighborhood. Fun days playing in the "Lower Forty", swimming at your pool, football and baseball games, basketball at the Klangs... it makes me smile to remember how much fun it was growing up with such great friends and families. My heart goes out to all of Hess family. I love you guys!

Gordy was always one of my favorite cousins and I most remember him as a teen-ager. He was a companion and friend to my Uncle Arleigh (aka "Buster"). Even though I was younger than he, Gordy was always friendly and full of fun. My dad used to get his hair cut and keep up with the family news from him. Although I hadn't seen Gordy for a very long time I do remember him with sincere fondness. Especially one time as a youngster when he and Buster taught me how to light fire crackers at Ohop Lake and they became heroes to me!

I've been blessed with your crazy duck talk, your "sink or swim" method of swimming lessons and many, many heartfelt and fond memories. Rest in peace Uncle Gordy, you will always have a special place in my heart. xoxo

Hi Mrs. Hess. (I may be grown up, but i still must to call you Mrs. Hess, Teach.) I can speak for the entire Prideaux family, that we will all miss Gordy. He cut my hair several times when i was a kid, and how he and my father would chat with each other during the cut. He will be missed from all the kids on the eastside, and many of them had the honor of having you as their teacher.

My parents Dick and Margie(Kiesel) Baughn were friends with Gordy and Barb when I was young. I remember very fondly spending summers around the Hess house when my grandmother Jennie Kiesel Hubman lived down the street. Fireworks, picnics and parties were always fun and exciting. Riding bikes with all the boys and playing pranks on the neighbors. Such wonderful days. I will never forget calling Gordy the 'Kissing Bandit". Our hearts are heavy today. May God be with you all and give you peace and strength as the days pass.
