HAZEL KISSLER Obituary

Hazel Susan Kissler Hazel Susan Kissler, born October 21, 1926 in Lind, WA, passed away January 27, 2011 in Gig Harbor. Hazel was a resident of the Tacoma area for 47 years and attended Unity Church. She was a secretary for Washington State Attorney General, before working for several years at Western State Hospital. Hazel was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, was a big fan of Mariners baseball, and loved to organize family barbeques and picnics. She created beautiful crochet tablecloths, hankies and sewed dresses for her loved ones. She loved to shop for antiques. Family members include her identical twin sister, Helen Winter of Odessa, WA, her daughter Marilyn Christensen (Dale), her sons Joel, Roy (Janie), Boyd, Bruce, Brett and Jon Kissler, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Lyle. The family would like to thank the special caregivers at Cottesmore. A memorial service will be held at a later date. This popped up on my phone so I thought I would post and say that I still remember her lively family and the fateful day that the boys went through a window!

I have fond memories of going to "Cousin Hazel's" house with my mother. I particularly remember a time when two of her boys were wrestling and went through the window....I was struck by how calm Hazel seemed to be.
