J. Wonser Obituary

J. Willettie Barker Wonser Was born in Greeley, CO. on February 8 1920 to Dave and Alta Hutchins Barker. She took up citizenship in the Kingdom of Heaven on March 1, 2011. Willettie was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her husband of 66 years and their 3 children, a brother, Merrill Barker, and sister, Rachel (Clyde) Donovan, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, great and great-great. Willettie attended church regularly with her family and accepted Christ at the age of 8. She graduated in 1938 from Grover High School and later attended college in Denver, CO for ministry. She met her husband in Colorado and was married on Feb 6 1945 in Wyoming. They moved to Michigan then to Washington State in 1948. She was a longtime member of the Sumner Nazarene Church, and helped in Bible school, writing plays, sewing costumes, as well as picking up teens for church. She enjoyed playing the piano, writing the words and music to songs. During her life she was a real estate agent, foster mom, and writer. In mid-life she and Ed became parents to three children. In 2000, Willettie joined the Daughters of the American Revolution, Mary Ball Chapter, and retired only after a few years. She was proud of her family's patriotism and Christian beliefs. One of her well-known questions to is, "How is it with you and Jesus?" To our beloved, we will meet you again on that beautiful shore. Services will be held at The Bonny Lake Nazarene Church on April 2, 2011 at 1:00pm In her memory donations can be made to BBFI Mission Office -Greenhouse J.Donovan, PO Box 802757, Kansas City MO 64180-2757.
