James Dixon Obituary

James Howard Dixon Born 2-7-1935 in Tacoma, WA and passed away 5-18-2011 at his home in Graham, WA surrounded by his loving family. Jim had an ever-evolving career with the Seattle Fire Dept. He began as a firefighter, and then participated as a paramedic in the first Medic One program. He joined the Arson Squad some years later as a detective, and eventually retired as a King County Fire Investigator. Everyone that had the privilege to have known him will remember him for his great sense of humor, willingness to always work hard to achieve his goals, and most of all the importance of his family. We are blessed to have been a part of his life, to have learned from him, and to have been loved by him. He was preceded in death by his parents, John H and Louisa M Dixon. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Loretta, two brothers, Richard (Bernice) and Roger (Denise), his three daughters, Debbie Brown (Brian), Lori Harden (Mark), and Diana Beyer (Chuck), and his son Jim Dixon (Michelle), five grandchildren, Jennifer, Sarah, Melissa, Aaron, and Valarie, and three great-grandchildren, Mason, Rylie, and Matthew. He has truly gone fishing now, but remains in our hearts and memories forever. The family will be holding a private celebration of Jim's life to honor and remember him.
