JOHN HAMILTON Obituary


Lt. Col. (Ret.) John L. Hamilton Born January 11, 1933 in Chicago; passed away February 15, 2011 in Tacoma at age 78. He served in the United States Air Force as a navigator and pilot from April 1954 to March 1973. John flew C130, C141 aircraft and served in the Vietnam War. He retired as a Lt. Col. with 20 years of service. John's life was his family. He was a smart man with a witty sense of humor, and passion for his friends. John loved bowling, traveling, movies, and sports. He was his children's and grandchildren's "#1 Fan" at their games. John touched many lives. Preceded in death by his parents Mamie and Hurley, sisters Vi and Elise and brother Bill. Survived by his wife Dixie of 55 years, daughter Lisa Hickman (Shane), son John Hamilton, Jr. (Margie), and grandchildren Logan, Johnny, Julianna, Melissa, Megann, Richard and Thomas. He will be missed by all and through the hearts of his family and friends, his memory will live on for eternity. We love you John, Dad and Papa. Memorial service Saturday, March 5, 2011; 1:00PM, Celebration of Life Center, Aspen Chapel, Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood. Reception to follow the service. Comments welcome online in guest book. Remembrances may be made to the family.
