LINDA SHADDUCK Obituary

Linda M. Shadduck Linda was born February 3, 1957, in France and entered into heaven March 3, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family at her home. Linda is survived by her mother, Suzie Carrere-Rivera, son Lucas (Nikki), daughter Crystal (Lissie), sister Krystine Hollinger (Allan) and nieces Allison and Olivia, brother Josh Smith, and grand-daughters Claira and Audrey (her "cherubs"), as well as numerous in-laws and lifelong friends. Linda graduated from Mt. Tahoma in 1975. She married David Shadduck in 1978, who preceded her in death and who she now joins in paradise. Linda worked for over 20 years in food services for Tacoma Public Schools, constantly serving others. She loved her coworkers and all of her "kids" at school. Linda loved spending time in the garden, watching football, taking road trips and visits back to France, and especially, spoiling her grandbabies and riling them up. Linda was a "Mom" to all, with a gracious heart and the ability to make everyone feel taken care of. She was well known as the life of any party. She will be deeply and sorely missed. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Sat., March 12th at 10 a.m. Skyline Pres. Church, 6301 Westgate Blvd., Tacoma 98406.

I was very sad to learn today of the passing of my longtime childhood friend. Over the years I have stayed in touch with her and always sending a Christmas and a birthday card. Last year was the 1st time I didn't get a card back and was very surprised to get a letter in the mail today from Suzie telling me the sad news. I will miss you greatly and remember you always. I wish you had told me you were ill and I wish I had seen you more...life is too short. My heart goes out to your family.

I will always remember Linda from Jason Lee. My first year here in 2008, Linda would always help me get through the day with conversations and she made me special burritos. What a sweet heart she always was. We would talk about her children and she was soooo proud of being a mom...we were the same age, graduated the same year, from different schools...but too young to die. Thoughts of you Linda...Ms Marchio

Dearest cousins,
despite knowing all too well the serious disease affecting my beloved cousin Linda, nothing could prepare me for the sorrow of the moment of her departure.
I could not imagine to feel so sad at the thought of not being able to see her ever again and I thank God for giving me the chance of meeting you all in Tacoma in February 2005. On that occasion we celebrated with much joy her birthday. I want to remember her happy and smiling. Dear Linda I love you and miss you very much and we are praying for you.

'You could be my silver springs, blue green, colors flashing. I would be your only dream, your shining autumn, ocean crashing'. - Fleetwood Mac, Silver Springs

Love and springtime garden flowers to Linda's family and friends. She was a rock star in the garden and an amazing mom to one of my best friends. She will be wildly celebrated during car trip karaoke sessions, fondly remembered as we witness the first buds every spring and cherished as our laughter reminds us of her insatiable thirst for humor and happiness!

I will miss her terribly, but the seeds she has planted in my heart are reserved for moments of great friendship and adventure.

All my love and cupcakes, xoxoxo
