LLOYD HANNAH Obituary

In Loving Memory Lloyd Carlton Hannah Lloyd Hannah, 87, of Tacoma, WA, passed quietly away on February 6, 2011. Mr. Hannah was born November 28, 1923, in Olympia, WA to Ethel and Robert Hannah. He was raised in Olympia, where he graduated from high school and later married his sweetheart Doris L. Coats in 1944. He served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II from 1943 to 1946 in the South Pacific and Atlantic War Zones. The Hannahs raised their two children, Larry and Patricia, in Seattle, WA. He had a long career as a radio engineer and retired from Bates Technical School in Tacoma, WA, where he was an Instructor in Radio Broadcast and Cable. Lloyd's health had always prohibited him from being a licensed pilot, but his knowledge of aviation and planes could not be easily challenged. But his true passion was sailing, and he gladly experienced this love of sailing every chance he could. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris, daughter Patricia, son Larry (Marilyn), 6 grandchildren, Christian, Travis, Jesse, Mark, Bernard, and Patty Lynn, and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Wayne and Merle Hannah. The family wishes to extend a Thank You to the staff at Manor Care of Tacoma, longtime friend Rosa Lee Hannah, and family physician Dr. Mark Brooks. Private services will be held with memorials suggested to the American Heart Association. Please sign Lloyd's online memorial at www.bonneywatson.com. Arrangements entrusted to Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, SeaTac, WA.
