MARILYN KURTZ

Marilyn Jean Kurtz Age 70, a resident of the Hillsboro, OR community, died Monday morning, February 1, 2011, at her daughter's home with family at her side. Celebration of Life services will be held February 20, 2011, 3:00pm at Sixth Ave United Methodist Church in Tacoma, WA. Marilyn was born on October 11, 1940 in Tacoma, WA. She was one of five children born to Frances and Ruby (Westrom) Smith. She was raised in the Tacoma area and attended Stadium high School graduating with the Class of 1958. She was first and foremost a loving wife and mother to her children. She raised three children, and enjoyed her grandchildren very much. She also was active in softball, bowling, and gardening. She enjoyed watching sports, playing cards, camping, and crafts. She was very social and would often visit with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Sherry (Kirk) Reisinger of Banks, OR, Michael (Angie) Kurtz of Newberg, OR, and Kenneth (Donna) Kurtz of Federal Way, WA; four siblings, Harriet Williams, Marlys (Chris) Magnusen, Karen (Bob) Spradley, and Charles (Karen) Smith; seven grandchildren, sister-in-law Linda Rollings of Tacoma, WA, brother-in-Law David (Beth) Kurtz of Emmett, ID; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
