Mario Alegria Obituary

SFC Mario M. ALEGRIA SFC Mario M. Alegria proudly and faithfully served his country for 32 years as a member of the US ARMY and Washington Army National Guard. He served through Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Mario was born in Villasis, Pangasinan, Philippines and immigrated to the United States in 1977. He died unexpectedly on April 13, 2011 while stationed in Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs, CO. He leaves behind his wife of almost 22 years, Marissa and his only daughter, Andrea (Andy). There are no words to describe how much he will be missed by his family and countless friends all over the world. He touched many people with his unselfish nature, his compassion, and quick smile. Mario was looking forward to his retirement scheduled for this summer to spend more time at home with his family that he loved and took good care of. Our lives are forever changed with the loss of Mario as a husband, a father, brother, son, uncle, nephew and best friend. Once you meet him, he will be your friend for life. Marisa and family,

Our contacts were few but we knew Mario was a loving son and cared deeply for you and your only daughter.

We know he made a difference in his
military service for all of us in the free world. He could not reap all his earthly rewards but he is resting in God's care now.

"There is a land of the living and a land of the dead and the bridge is love....."

Our love, his love will keep Mario among us forever.

May God comfort you as we all mourn Mario's untimely passing.
With prayers,Parong and Bernaldez families
