MARY GREGORY Obituary

Mary Patricia "Pat" Gregory Pat passed away February 18, 2011 peacefully in her sleep at the Sun City, AZ home that she shared with her husband Thomas Gregory. Pat was born September 23, 1926 in Tacoma, WA to Doug and Etta McGuire. Her childhood years were spent on the family farm near Welcome, WA, then Sumner, and later Tacoma, WA where she graduated from St. Leo's High School in 1944. After high school, Pat married Kenneth Call. She gave birth to three children who survive her, Linda (Kenneth) Lambert of Puyallup, Kenneth (June) Call of Edgewood and James (Barbara) Call of Fife; five grandchildren, Kenneth "K.C." Call, Carri Lowery, Jenny Call, Tara Cochran, and Morgan Lambert; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Jean Bottke and is survived by her sister Joann Makovich of Gig Harbor. Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She shared her many passions that included books, travel, art, crafts, and her ongoing search for that perfect treasure to decorate her home. She developed a love for baseball, which in her usual fashion included not only the games and the nicknames of her team's players, but full biographical information on their entire families as well. Most of all, she shared her great sense of humor and her tremendous pride in her family. We already miss you so much, Mom, and we are so proud to be your family.

I am sorry that I never got to meet my Great Aunt Pat. It sounds like she was an amazing person. My condolences to my cousins.

I will always remember my grandma holding me on her lap and singing an old song that went, "Way down in the valley, the valley so low". Truly a woman of patience and toughness, surviving the great depression, she carried habits of frugality that made for a practical life of happiness but unfortunatley invaded her culinary skills which made for many jokes at her expense through the years. Grandma was always ready and willing to poke fun at herself. Grandma was always humble and so very fortunate to have a man that saw her for who she truly was and cared for her in a way that would be envied by anyone.

I love you Grandma,
