Parna Joyce Obituary

Parna Ann (LaZelle) Joyce Was born April 13, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan. She died on May 8, 2011 at the age of 87. She is survived by her three children, Ann Joyce Crawford, William Joyce, and Amy Joyce Hunter, and five grandchildren. Parna was the only daughter of Nina (Case) and George LaZelle. After graduating from Michigan State, Parna moved to Burbank, CA where she married Vernon Joyce on March 4, 1950 and lived in the San Fernando Valley until 2007, when she joined her daughters and grandchildren in Puyallup. Parna was a wife first, a mom second, and a friend and neighbor always. She volunteered at Northridge Hospital in CA. for over 30 years, and she was devoted to her children's activities, loved the Dodgers, and was passionate about playing bridge. She was always up for a good card game, a travel adventure, or reading and telling stories to her grandchildren. Her mind was sharp until the end, her sense of humor intact. She spent her final days surrounded by her family, and gratefully went home to be with her Lord in heaven on Mother's Day. A memorial service celebrating her life was held on May 14, 2011. If you'd like to honor Parna's memory, donations may be sent to Northridge Hospital Foundation, 18300 Roscoe Blvd, Northridge, CA 91325, or donate online at www.supportnorthridge.org/Memorials_And_Tributes
