RICKY WELFRINGER Obituary

Ricky Dell Welfringer On February 18, 2011, Ricky Welfringer (64) no longer able to have it his way, hit the proverbial highway. He was born May 9, 1946 to Marcian and Adella (Radke) Welfringer in Tacoma, WA. Rick attended Franklin Pierce High School and Grays Harbor Community College. He became a longshoreman (ILWU Local 23) in 1978 and after a long, successful career retired in 2009. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed spirited debates. He was strong-willed and opinionated, but had an enormous, kind heart that will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife Amy (Bigelow), her son and mother Mike and Mickey respectively, his daughter Tracy, son Scott (wife Stephanie), two brothers Mark (wife Jeannie) and Brian (wife Miki), sister Marcey (husband Spud), three grandchildren (Destiny, Hunter and Lauryn) and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 1-4pm at the Tacoma Landmark Convention Center - 47 St. Helens Avenue, Tacoma, WA in the Gothic Ballroom.

God's blessings to Rick's family (Brian and Mark). I remember that in the Clover Park game our senior year, he ran up my back shouting "get moving Erickson". We got an 11 yard gain and he was wanting more. His passion was incredible. I will always smile when I think of Rick.

Rick was one of a kind. I liked him from the first time he ran over me during scrimmage at FP. He was a big reason our '64 team was so successful. I will miss his smile and sense of humor. No doubt he will be a starter in the Lord's backfield. So long good buddy, reunions won't be the same without you.

Amy,
I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Ricky. He will be dearly missed. May all the wonderful memories of the years you shared together, help to comfort you and the family, in the days ahead. And most of all, may the Peace of God, thru prayer guard your hearts and thoughts to help you cope without him. Philippians 4:6,7
