1929 - 2016 Obituary Condolences
Robert W. Bovitz Feb. 13th, 1929 to Dec. 23rd, 2016 Robert Bovitz, 87, died on Friday, December 23rd, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his brothers Jim Bovitz and Tom Bovitz; his children Mary Jo George (Bovitz), Robert (Bobby) Bovitz, and Michael Bovitz; his grandchildren Lindsey Thorne (George), Katie Bonnett (Wiltrout), Arlo Wiltrout, Ryan George, Megan and Michael Bovitz; and numerous great-grandchildren. He finally joined his best friend, the love of his life, his wife Helen Bovitz (Percich). They were married in Anchorage, Alaska on July 31st in 1951, and those who knew him knew his family was his greatest accomplishment. He was the most generous and loving man around. He began his early years in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic, later climbing the ranks at Boeing where he eventually retired after 38 years. He was a lover of awesome road trips to the mountains or across the country and a fan of childhood adventures. He often piled all the kids and cousins and later the grandkids into the car to head down to the zoo or Enchanted Village. He was a true sports fan who could yell at any football game like they could actually hear him, which was likely inspired from his days playing on the USAF football team. Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a mentor and a father figure to many people, as you could not meet him without wanting to sit down and ask for advice. He will be greatly missed, but we know his wife is finally sitting next to him again and holding his hand.
