Robert (Bob) Louis Leonard Was born in Kenosha, WI on January 21, 1916 and died on April 18, 2011 at the age of 95. He served in World War II as a medic of the 101st Airborne from 1942 1945. While in college, after the war, he met and married Marion Janssen in 1946. In 1954, they moved to Puyallup where he was the director of the YMCA for 17 years. He then worked for the Tacoma YMCA before moving on to a career with the WSU County Extension Service where he brought 4-H to inner city youth in Tacoma. Along with Marion, he raised four children: Karen, James, Thomas and Janet; had 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Bob and Marion were married for 59 years until her death in 2005. He was very active in Kiwanis, 4-H and the Puyallup United Methodist Church. His kind, genuine interest in people made him a great husband, father, grandfather, friend, and a treasured gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. We will miss him very much. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 14, at 1:00 at the Puyallup United Methodist Church. Betty Leonard and I worked at the Y in Puyallup after school for Bob. He was a gentle man who forgave our miserable typing. I remember him fondly.

Have fond memories of Bob and Marion at Y camp at Lake Tapps in the 50's. I spent 5 summers there. They were both great people. My condolences to the family.
