SHANNON FRENCH Obituary

Shannon Lea French Our beautiful Shannon was born in Medford, Oregon on August 12, 1960 to Norene and William French. Shannon grew up in Medford, making many lifelong friends. After graduating from Southern Oregon State College, Shannon began a highly successful career in the banking/finance industry, moving rapidly up the ranks to management, where she was quite respected by her employees and supervisors. Later in her career, Shannon took a risk and changed industries to executive recruiting, enjoying success yet again. Shannon's joys included gardening, travel to Puerto Vallarta and Hawaii, shopping, music, and all animals, including her beloved cats Maxi, Alex, and Kini. Many thanks to all of our friends and relatives who showed such courage and loving support. Shannon taught us all a lesson in dignity and grace and will be sorely missed. Shannon was preceded in death by her father William E. French. She is survived by her husband Steve, her mother Norene, brother Mike, stepfather Raymond, and beloved cats Alex and Kini. Donations strongly suggested to Pierce County Humane Society.

Out of nowhere, I had a memory of Shannon giving me a ride to school every morning when I had an early class at MSHS and there was no bus service. I wondered if I could find where she was now and thank her again for that long ago kindness. I´m shocked to find that she left us so many years ago. Still, I´m sending gratitude and love, & trusting she receives it. I´m thankful our paths intersected, even for a short while.

My darling Steve: This is the day you made your entrance into the world. Although "Happy Birthday" doesn't seem to be the appropriate message, I want you to know that I celebrate your life and am proud to know that you are my son, and such a caring husband and staunch friend. I'm sure that Shannon feels the same way. God bless you - I love you Mom

Steve, you've been the rock through it all. Shannon will be missed tremendously by all of us, and especially you. There will be a hole in your sole forever but now you need to live your life as fully as you can and as a tribute to her. The bible says there is a time for everything, a time to live and a time to die, a time for joy and a time for sorrow, a time to grieve and a time to celebrate.....After the pain and sorrow, there will be light. We are here for you, just like you were there for her. Lean on your friends in times of despair. Love Ron and Sherri
