Thomas H. Hinkleman A Prineville resident passed away on Friday January 14, 2011, at his home. He was 73 years of age. A funeral service will be held January 21, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home in Sumner, Washington. Burial will follow at the Sumner Cemetery. Tom was born in Tacoma, Washington on February 12, 1937 to Fredrick and Hazel (Paterson) Hinkleman. He was raised and graduated from Buckley High School in Buckley, WA. After graduating he went to work for Weyerhaeuser for five years. Tom entered the U.S. Army in 1960 and was stationed in Alaska as an helicopter mechanic until 1963. Tom married Sami Lee Ettenhofer Nov. 6, 1971 in Bonney Lake, WA; together they raised their son James Andrew Hinkleman. Tom worked for Kenwoth in Seattle build and assembling cabs for semi Trucks. Tom retired from Kenworth after 20 plus years. Tom was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting and fishing, he took many fishing trips to British Colombia and bird hunting trips to Waitsburg and Walla Walla. He had many Springer Spaniels hunting dogs just a few of his favorites were Buffy, Tuffy and Brandi. Tom was a member of the Eagles in Buckley and the NRA and DAV (disability American Veteran). Tom was surrounded by many many friends through out his life time, he will be loved and miss greatly. Tom is survived by his wife Sami Lee Hinkleman of Prineville; He was preceded in death by parents and one son James A. Hinkleman in 1989 and one brother-in-law Seward A. Ettenhofer. Arrangements are in the care of the Prineville Funeral Home.

Sami, we are all saddened, & sorry to hear about the sudden departure of Dear Tom. He was a joy & such fun to be around, and he will be sorely missed by us all. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Sami, Roger and I were so sad to hear of Tom's passing. He was so much fun and I loved to hear him laugh. His practical jokes were always a kick! I loved to give him heck and he never failed to give it back. I'll truly miss him and his goofy emails! We will see you on Friday.

Sami, Iam so sorry to hear about Tom. You are in my prayers.Even though I never meet the two of you, I feel like I have known you both forever. Tom was always so nice and a joy to speek to on the phone. Im so glad that your home and property sold when it did. If you ever need anything please call me. God with you and your family.
