William G. Blaha

William G. Blaha PopPop Bill Born 2/16/1924 to James and Emma Blaha in Omaha, NE. After HS in 1941, Bill enlisted in the Navy and was part of their aviation unit in WWII. He served on many of the islands in the South Pacific and was honorably discharged in 1947. He then moved to Shelton to married Viola Russell. There he was a watchmaker until 1950. From there he came to Tacoma and was an Electric Instrument Technician Civil Service for the AF until 1984. In 1990 Bill married Dee Anderson. He was a great stepdad to Traci, Kelli (Scot), and Jon (Amy), and truly enjoyed the 7 grandkids and 2 great-grandkids. Bill had a number of hobbies, including woodworking, gardening, and being with his bingo friends and family at BJ's in Fife. He also was the neighborhood "go to guy". He could solve any problem you threw at him, and loved doing just that. Special thanks to all of the neighbors and friends who have been there for him all of these years. Bill wrote himself that he saw 3 turtle races, been to 2 county fairs and seen an elephant and now it's time to go home.
