JOHN COLOGEROU Obituary
John Cologerou 10/19/43 - 4/1/14 It is with much sadness and a broken heart, I lost my beloved husband and best friend far too soon from a sudden heart attack. John was born and raised in Tacoma, graduating from Wilson in '61. He worked at his father's fish market, then in the beer business for many years, retiring in 2003. John played softball for many years. He had a lot of fun, and especially enjoyed the many out-of-town tournaments. A good time with a great group of guys. We both enjoyed having dinner parties and BBQ's. John was a great cook and grill master. He loved his hibachi, the first one given to him from my father 30 years ago. It originally came from Viet Nam as a gift to my dad. John finally got the Big Green Egg after the first one literally fell apart. How modern the new one seemed! John loved to travel, feeling very fortunate to have been to Sweden and Germany to visit family and tour the country. He also made many trips to Hawaii, Mexico and Florida. John had coffee every Thursday with the Forza guys. He really enjoyed their conversations and thought highly of this group of men. Dad, there is very little I can say that I haven't told you before. It has been a blessing to have you as my Dad. I am grateful that you allowed me the freedom to become the person I am today. It has been a privilege to have you as my best friend as well as my Dad. I am grateful for the memories and will treasure them forever and will always love you. See you in the morning. Jon Survived by wife Katrina, sister Carol, son Jon, daughter Nicole (Randall), brother-in-law Steve Kraft, wife Cindy, nephew Harrison, and niece Hayden. He was a wonderful man who will be missed by all who knew him. Memorial service Saturday, April 19th at 2:00 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Tacoma Humane Society.
