ARNOLD JULICH Obituary

COL (Ret.) Arnold L. Julich COL (Ret.) Arnold (Arnie) Julich passed away peacefully on January 26, 2016. Arnie moved with his family to the Tacoma area as a teenager, and graduated from Lakes High School. He attended the U.S. Air Force Academy, graduating in 1968. He then spent 27 years serving his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force where he was a pilot. He flew both KC-135 tanker and B-52 bomber aircraft, held several command positions, and was both a Vietnam and Southwest Asia veteran. After retiring from the Air Force, Arnie moved to Ocean Shores, and spent 7 years working for the Quinault Indian Nation. Arnie will be greatly missed by the love of his life, Tanya. They were married for 47 wonderful years. He will also be missed by son Mark (wife Tracie), granddaughter Melissa, brothers Nick, Jim, Tom (wife Mary), and Terry (wife Lee), sister Pam (husband Mike), and numerous nieces and nephews. Arnie loved family. He was the "leader of the pack," and the one we all looked up to for guidance, a bit of humor, and reassurance. We will always remember and miss his calm demeanor, wise counsel, quick smile, and joy of life. Arnie loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, clamming, golfing, and long walks near the beach. He especially enjoyed doing those activities with family and friends. He also had a major role in training their horse, Gus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ocean Shores Baptist Church, St Jude's Children's Hospital, or Aberdeen Union Gospel Mission. Viewing will be held at noon on Monday, 1 February, followed by a church service at 1 PM at the Garden Chapel, Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood.

So sad to learn of Arnie's death. We were together at Plattsburgh AFB until its closure in 1995.

There are no words.....just God's assurance that Arnie's life touched so many. You are missed. Tanya has gone on, it is not the same, but she has gone on.....she is still our strength. My admiration for a life well lived.
