JIMMY ALFORD

1938 - 2016

In Loving Memory of Jimmy "Shorty" H. Alford Born: December 29, 1938 Passed away: July 13, 2016 Preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Dorathy Alford He is survived by brother's Johnny (Jeanie), Sammy (Ann) and several nieces and nephews, also his Loving wife of 55 years Aletta K Alford, his children Steve, Kathy (Alford) McCarty-O'hairt (Robert), his grandchildren Johnathon (Jolie) Hart, Christina (Jamiel) McDowell, greatgrandchildren Emmitt and Caleigh McDowell. And many extended family and friends. Jimmy "Shorty" served his country for over 23 years (1955-1979) in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Tech Sergeant (E-6). His service brought him to McCord Air Force base in 1959 where he met his future beautiful wife, and together they served their country all over the world. When they retired from the Air Force they moved back to Midland (Tacoma) Washington where he started working for Boeing. After 25 years of dedicated service to Boeing he retired. Shorty then started his 3rd career as a gardener and wood working, doing all sorts of projects for all that was in need. He was also a dedicated member of Spanaway Lutheran Church serving as a "Wednesday Warrior" doing many projects for the church and community. A memorial service will be held July 17, 2016 at 4:00 PM at the Spanaway Lutheran Church 16001 A St. Spanaway WA., followed by a Celebration of Life at the Alford's home. In lieu of flowers, gifts or donations can be made to Spanaway Lutheran Church "In Memory of Jimmy "Shorty" Alford".
