Virgil C Holle

Virgil C. Holle, 90, Dudleytown, passed away at 7:55 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Born Jan. 31, 1923, in Jackson County, he was the son of Fred and Malinda (Miller) Holle. On Sept. 24, 1950, in Dudleytown, he married Luella Bobb.
Virgil attended Wegan Lutheran School and graduated from Tampico High School in 1941. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II serving in the European Theater in England, France, Germany and Belgium from January 1943 until December 1945. He was employed at Arvin Manufacturing for 28 years doing assembly and inspection work. He then spent 13 years at Hoosier Parts, retiring in 1986. He also sold insurance for AAL and the Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance companies. After retiring, he spent time at both his sons' businesses working at Denny's Auto Repair and Marvin's farm.
Virgil was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dudleytown, where he served as trustee, finance board secretary and Mission Federation secretary for 10 years. He was the church's bell ringer for all events for 50 years. Virgil's prayer was to ring the bell for the 2012 Palm Sunday services, which fulfilled his 50-year commitment. He also served as treasurer for the security lights project of Dudleytown for 20 years and was president of the Tampico High School reunion committee for 16 years. He was the official caretaker for the Bobb family history for more than 40 years and put up real estate signs for Milton and Fred Pollert for 30 years. He also enjoyed hunting rabbits, squirrel and quail. He loved dogs and bred several breeds over the years.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Luella; two sons, Dennis (Rhonda) Holle and Marvin (Karen) Holle; grandchildren, Danny (Morgan) Holle, Amber (Ben) Williams, Lisa (Travis) Price, Kevin (Kelly Anderson) Holle, Kelly (Matt) Klosterman and Kayla Holle; great-grandchildren: Austin Campbell, Marina Lozano (Holle), Zoe Williams, London Williams, Lindsey Klosterman and Kylie Price; twin great-grandchildren due this week; and a sister-in-law, Hulda Goecker.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Rev. Scott Kozisek will conduct the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Emanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 89, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Veterans 7, all of Seymour.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.
Memorials may be given to Emanuel Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or Trinity Lutheran High School.
