Jack R. Dunfee, 85, Seymour, passed away at 3:43 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Schneck Medical Center.
Born Oct. 27, 1926, in Wabash, he was the son of Vern and Florence Pretorius Dunfee.
Mr. Dunfee was a member of Ocala Palms Worship Community Church, Ocala, Fla. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a former General Motors franchise owner in Seymour, Bloomington and Corydon. He was a 60-year member of the Wabash American Legion, Post 15 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a graduate of Indiana University and an Indiana University Alumni. Mr. Dunfee enjoyed gardening and spending time with his friends in Florida. He was a wonderful family man and a loving father and grandfather.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Catherine (Lewis) Kaplan of Michigan, Jack R. Dunfee Jr. of Seymour, Matthew Dunfee of South Dakota, Cindy (Tom) Milcic of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Tim (Barbara) Dunfee of Seymour; grandchildren, Scott, Emily and Abigail Kaplan, Nick, Becca and Ben Dunfee, Jeremiah, Rachel, Beth, Jordan and Luke Dunfee, Haley and Sarah Milcic, Jeremiah McCulley and Tiffany Ozbun; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill Dunfee and Tom Dunfee; and sister, MaryBell Maier.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison, with the Rev. Marcus Speer officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors conducted at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road, Madison.
Family and friends may call from noon until time of service Friday at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Chapel.
Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
