Robert "Rocky" F. Bellacqua, 61, of Columbia, N.H., passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, March 22, 2013, at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook.
Born in Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard, Mass., on June 24, 1951, he was the son of the late Colombo and Gertrude (Dennehy) Bellacqua. He was very proud and happy to marry Ginny Petro on Sept. 15, 2012.
Rocky grew up in Milford, Mass., and graduated from Milford High School. Over the years, he worked at many different places, including General Motors, WeLog and First Colebrook Bank. He also owned and operated his own business in his beloved north country, Rock's Home Care, for 20 years. Rocky's hobbies included riding motorcycles and ATVs, and he loved to tinker on his tractor. He loved to spend time with his close friend, George Lesperance, who he considered as close as a son.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Ginny Petro Bellacqua of Columbia, N.H.; a son and two daughters, all of Massachusetts; and his siblings, Frederick (Rosemary) Bellacqua of Milford, Mass., Thomas (Barbara) Bellacqua of Uxbridge, Mass., Rita (Frank) Lovejoy of Bellingham, Mass., Mary (David) Ceolinski of Blackstone, Mass., Nancy Cerutti of Bellingham, Mass., and Joanne Bellacqua and partner, Anna Majeau of North Uxbridge, Mass.; and his mother-in-law, Nancy Petro of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Richard.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home, Colebrook, N.H., with Pastor Cindy Grassi officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
