Timothy H. "Tim" LaMaster, 71, of North Vernon, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014.
Born Jan. 7, 1943, in Seymour, he was the son of Walter and Virginia (Hedden) LaMaster. In 1999, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, he married Jewell L. Sowers LaMaster. She survives.
Tim was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a 1961 graduate of Seymour High School. After 42 years of service, he retired from Cummins Inc., where he worked in purchasing. Tim was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925 and American Legion Post 89. He enjoyed NASCAR and attending the Seymour Oktoberfest.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Schaan LaMaster, Shannon (Gina) LaMaster and Jolene (Josh) LaMaster Lynch; a stepson, Matthew Sowers; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; brothers, Mike (Sharon) LaMaster, Toby (Cheryl) LaMaster and Jim (Sue) LaMaster; and a sister, Melissa (Duane) Shelton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; and a stepgranddaughter, Rachel Dukes.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. James Rodriguez officiating.
Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. until time of service today at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. Tim will be buried at Lutheran Cemetery, 325 Vehslage Road, Seymour, by his first wife, Ruth Moenning, with full military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
Memorials may be written to or Our Hospice of Greensburg.
All arrangements have been entrusted to Voss & Sons Funeral Service and Tri-County Crematory in Seymour.
