Ann LaVerne Walker Ruddick, 72, was called to eternal life with the Lord on Sunday, April 14, 2013.

She was born April 28, 1940, in Jennings County, the daughter of Ambrose and Mary Cain Walker. She was raised in the Baptist faith.
Ann graduated from Crothersville High School in 1958. She married George Melvin ""Mel"" Ruddick on Sept. 16, 1960, and they lived most of their married life in Seymour. She leaves behind their three children, Melvin Allen (Laura) Ruddick, Mark Andrew (Patty) Ruddick and Melody Ann Ruddick (Randy) Thompson; one brother, Ed Walker; and five grandchildren, Nikki Thompson Zupancic (Craig), TJ Thompson, Marc Ruddick, Zach Ruddick and Seth Thompson.
Her parents and one brother, Tim Walker, preceded her in death.
Ann was a wonderful wife and an amazing mother. She worked part of her adult life at H.O. Canfield, Talon and Dickson's. Ann loved baby-sitting her grandchildren and watching them participate in sports. She also enjoyed growing blue roses and gardening, traveling to every state in the United States with her husband, Mel, and the kids, and being a member of the Corvette Club.
Ann was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease three years ago and spent the last three and a half months as a resident of Lutheran Community Home, nurtured by loving, caring nurses and staff.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with ordained minister Harold Freeman officiating. Her final resting place will be at Cana Cemetery just outside Uniontown. There will be a Voss dove release following the committal service.
Ann's life will be celebrated with a viewing from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
