Betty Jean Richardson Haws, 75, Seymour, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at her son's home in Jonesville.

Mrs. Haws loved to cook. She worked at The Townhouse in Seymour for more than 15 years with her friend and sister-in-law, Connie Stockover. She was a former member of American Legion and New Life Assembly. She loved her flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed crocheting, crafting and spending time with her grandkids.
Born June 18, 1937, in Taylorsville, Ky., she was the daughter of Leslie and Sarah Alice (Whitehouse) Richardson.
Survivors include her son, Roger D. Haws, Jonesville; her daughter, Kimela S. (Doug) Taylor, Seymour; five grandchildren, Richard Keck, Robert (Sheila) Haws, William (Amanda) Haws, Anthony (Robin) Taylor and Daniel Taylor; 10 great-grandchildren, Cody, Aarin and Matheu Matthews, Justin and Kienan Joy, Elijah Haws, John Abbott, Addison Taylor, Isaiah Holland and Aubree K. Elizabeth Barnes; one brother, Leslie Richardson; and three sisters, Belva (Eric) Sage, Margie (Bobby) Troxell and Lora (Jack) McClintock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carl Thomas Richardson; and sister, Hallie Mae Turner.
Cremation has been chosen and the family will have a memorial service later in the year.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Schneck Medical Center in care of the funeral home at 612 Meadowbrook Drive, Seymour, IN 47274.
