Charles M. "Honest Charlie T." Toler, 72, of Seymour, a former resident of Griffith and Hardy, Ark., passed away at 3:55 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, after a good life.

Survivors include his wonderful wife and best friend, Janie (Sparks), whom he married on Nov. 4, 1993, in Lowell; three of his beautiful children, Todd (Virginia) Toler, Bev (Gregg) Sipes and Vickie Kitchell; grandchildren, Charlie, Mackenzie, Addison, Joe, Steven, Krystal (Ryan), Ryan and Michael; great-grandchildren, Joseah, Ryan and Annabelle; and a brother Jerry (Judy) Toler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Juanita Toler, and his beautiful daughter, Lisa Elliott.
Born in Gainesville, Ark., he became a resident of northwest Indiana for many years. He graduated from Hammond Tech where he enjoyed many of his class reunions. He retired from Ford Motor Co. after 30 years of service. He was a proud member of the United Auto Workers 551 and was an avid motorcyclist, and he also collected, rebuilt and enjoyed old cars. He loved spending time with granddaughters Mackenzie and Addison. He loved and was loved by his pets through the years. He was a man with many friends and never met a stranger.
A memorial visitation will be conducted from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn-Freetown Funeral Chapel, 4595 W. First St., Freetown.
The family requests that friends come with their collector cars or motorcycles to the visitation.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date in northwest Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Schneck Medical Center.
