Delores J. Smith, 77, Medora, passed away at 9:47 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.

Delores had worked for Walmart in Seymour from 1993 until 2004. She volunteered for many years through the Christian Church at Hoosier Christian Village and enjoyed baking pies for various bake sales they offered. She was a member of Driftwood Christian Church, Vallonia.
Born Sept. 18, 1935, in Aurora, W.Va., she was the daughter of Charles R. and Mary Ellen (Knotts) Spessert. On June 9, 1957, she married James Smith, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Roger (Beverly) Smith and Duane F. Smith; one sister, Berdina Powers; three grandchildren, Mike Smith, Tim Smith and Erika Esposito; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dale Smith; and one sister, Mabel "Peg" Baker.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown, with Steve Gommel officiating. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be given to Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary.
