Dennis Wayne Royalty, 61, Seymour, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Columbus Regional Hospital after an 18-year fight with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Dennis was a 1969 graduate of Seymour High School. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1981. Before cancer disabled him, he enjoyed working in sales and service, most recently delivering parts for O'Reilly Auto Parts. He loved spending time fishing with his family and friends, traveling to antique car shows and watching NASCAR and football.
Born July 22, 1951, in Seymour, he was the son of the late James and Edna Dart Royalty. He married Walena D. Brown on Dec. 17, 1982. She survives.
Other survivors include his children, Melissa Ray Royalty, Columbus, and Aaron P.W. (Mona) Royalty, Seymour; brothers, Willie Royalty, Ronald Royalty and Leo (Billie) Royalty; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brent) Craig, Saraya Royalty, McKinley Royalty, Mason Royalty and Aaryck Royalty; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Nancy Sovern Royalty.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday at Praise Cathedral Church of God in Seymour with Pastor John Carr officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be written to the or to the family.
All arrangements have been entrusted to Tri-County Crematory, Seymour, owned and operated by Voss and Sons Funeral Service.
