Donald E. Ervin, 82, Seymour, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.

Born June 29, 1931, in Morgantown, W.Va., he was the son of Joe and Avis Ervin, both of whom preceded him in death. On Dec. 1, 1956, in Seymour, he married Mary E. Hudson, who survives in Seymour.
Donald attended First Church of the Nazarene, Seymour. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He was a construction worker for 50 years and a member of the Labor Union for more than 50 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, David Ervin and Brenda (George) Cook; grandchildren, Jennifer Cook and Christine Cook; great-grandchild, Caylin Cook; brother, Lewis Ervin; and sister, Ella Jean Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bud Ervin.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. Steve Barrett officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery with a Voss dove release.
Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
